New partners at E&Y

ERNST & Young has appointed two new partners as part of the firm’s growth plans in Yorkshire.
Gareth Lambert and Neil Harrison will play leading roles in further developing the professional services firm’s 32-strong Financial Services (FS) practice in Leeds, which advises household names in the banking and insurance sector locally, across the UK and internationally.
David Buckley, Yorkshire senior partner at Ernst & Young, said: “The appointments mark Ernst & Young’s sixth partner appointment in Leeds in the last two years. Our new partners demonstrate the practice’s potential for further growth.
“We are still recruiting in Yorkshire and continue to grow in many aspects of the business, even in this difficult market. We expect to make further partner appointments in the next 12 months.”
Mr Harrison, 31, will be responsible for providing advice on tax and accounting rules, particularly for large multinational clients.
In the last 12 months his team in Leeds has worked on projects in Switzerland, New York and Columbia.
Mr Lambert already plays a leading role in the delivery of Ernst & Young’s risk services to financial services organisations and the public sector, with a particular focus on banking and central government.
The 39-year-old will also continue to work with financial institutions of all sizes with specific focus on internal audit and risk management.
He has experience from a wide range of financial areas, with particular interest in the mutual sector as it responds to the changed economic outlook.
Mr Buckley added: “Our financial services practice in Yorkshire has flourished in the last five years and continues to win market share.
“It has built a strong reputation for delivering leading advice that Yorkshire clients can access locally rather than looking to London.”
