Appointments: Dalzell in at SSD; Lee joins Strategic Team Group; and more

MATTHEW Dalzell has joined the Leeds office of law firm Squire Sanders Hammonds as real estate partner.
Mr Dalzell has joined Squire Sanders Hammonds from Watson Burton, where he became partner in August 2009.
His work covers many aspects of property, particularly acquisitions and disposals, financing and structuring, with a predominant focus on the student accommodation and retail markets.
Jonathan Jones, Leeds office managing partner at Squire Sanders Hammonds, said: “This is our second partner appointment to the Leeds real estate team over the past 12 months and is an expression of the confidence that we have in developing the team.”

PROPERTY contractor Strategic Team Group has hired customer care manager, Phil Lee, who will be responsible for the firm’s customer care charter, Service Plus.
Based at the firm’s head office in Yorkshire, Mr Lee will lead the customer care team in providing support for clients during the construction process and following completion and handover.
His new role will see him implement Service Plus across all the firm’s social housing sites throughout the UK. With the view to rolling the initiative out across all building sites, which range from railways, education and public buildings, care homes and health facilities to commercial office fit-outs and high profile residential schemes.

NICK Scull, head of tax at Yorkshire accountants Garbutt & Elliott, has been appointed chairman of the UK Tax Working Party of global accountancy organisation Praxity.
Mr Scull has been a director of Garbutt & Elliott, which has offices in York and Leeds, since 2007.
This completes a hat trick of Praxity chairmanships for Garbutt & Elliott, with directors Craig Manson and David Dickson heading up the family business and business development working parties respectively.
Praxity, which is based in Belgium, is a global alliance of independent European accountancy firms.
Mr Scull has also been appointed as a director on the board of the York Professionals, the members organisation which puts individuals and companies in touch with each other in the city.
