Briggs steps up at TheBusinessDesk.com

IAN Briggs has been promoted to Editor of TheBusinessDesk.com in Yorkshire.

Ian steps up to the role responsible for all editorial content on the website as former Editor David Parkin focuses his time on managing the business, which since its launch in Yorkshire in November 2007 has opened offices in Manchester and Birmingham.

Ian, who started his career as a news reporter on the Bradford Telegraph & Argus, joined TheBusinessDesk.com from the Yorkshire Post when it launched.

The move also sees Assistant Editor James Reed promoted to Deputy Editor.

Managing director David Parkin said: “Ian is not just our longest serving member of the team but a great journalist who has gained the respect of people inside and outside our business.

“This is a deserved promotion for him for all his hard work and talent. James Reed also steps up to Deputy Editor which reflects the impact he has made since he joined us last year.
