Caravan manufacturer predicts good year following £6.8m boost

COACHMAN Caravans believes the troubled sector has turned a corner after securing £6.8m in sales at the International Caravan & Motohome Show.
The Hull-based firm said that its 2010 range and new designs were well received with family models proving a big hit.
Jim Hibbs, the firm’s managing director, said that the results from this year’s NEC Birmingham show were extremely positive and the best the firm had experienced.
“The atmosphere and attendance was back to what it was before the recession. We hope our recent achievements at the NEC signify that the caravan industry is making great strides out of the recession,” he added.
“We still have some way to go but will be working hard to make the 2010 season a successful one.”
The International Caravan & Motorhome Show is the biggest indoor caravan and motorhome show in the UK.
Coachman Caravans was established in 1986. The company employs 137 members of staff.
