Extension will add to sparkle at Rudding Park

BUILDING work has started to construct a major extension at Rudding Park Hotel in North Yorkshire.
A further 34 bedrooms and additional facilities will be added to the hotel near Harrogate.
The extension is being constructed by Yorkshire-based RN Wooler & Co.
Appointed by the independently owned Rudding Park Hotel earlier this year, DLG Architects is leading the development team and expects that the building programme will be completed by November 2010.
Julian Monaghan, partner at DLG Architects, saqid: “We are delighted that work has started to extend the facilities at Rudding Park. This represents a strong commitment by the owners of Rudding Park to continue to improve the fantastic facilities that the hotel has to offer.
“Developing the detailed design of the new extension to be in keeping with the original grade two-listed hotel was the original challenge. We are now turning our efforts towards making sure that the new buildings are constructed whilst respecting the requirements of guests and the operational needs of the hotel.”
Simon Mackaness, chairman of Rudding Park, said: “At Rudding Park we strive to provide our guests with the best possible facilities and service. The creation of our new bedroom wing will provide a further 34 bedrooms, as well as a small spa and gym, and will further enhance our award winning property by providing the luxury facilities our guests are seeking.”
