Listed cake retailer completes acquisition of distribution centre in £1.4m deal

A warehouse and distribution centre in Bradford has been acquired as part of a wider deal worth £1.4m.
Cake Box Holdings, the specialist retailer of fresh cream cakes, has purchased the warehouse along with another facility in Coventry.
The two warehouse and distribution centres will help support the Group’s future growth, including new franchise store openings which continue in line with its plans.
At the end of February, Cake Box comprised 111 franchise stores, having opened a further 10 since its half year end.
In addition, Cake Box also plans to install some sponge production capability at the new centres which would enable it to reduce its distribution costs and provide a backup to its existing production facility in Enfield.
Cake Box expects to give an update on trading for the year ended 31 March 2019 in April 2019.
