Gaming giant puts all its chips on number 4

4 Wellington Place

Sky Betting & Gaming will move into one of the new developments at Wellington Place as the business continues its decade of growth.

The gaming giant first moved 200 people to 2 Wellington Place in 2010 but now has 1,300 people that it will move in number 4. The building is under development now and scheduled for completion by the end of next year.

It has agreed a deal to take all 134,000 sq ft office space over seven floors in the building.

The Leeds-headquartered business was sold to The Stars Group last year in a £3.4bn deal.

Becs Cubbon, chief people officer at The Stars Group, said: “With ambitious growth plans and an exciting recruitment programme, we not only needed somewhere to house all our existing teams, but somewhere to give us the space to grow.

“As one of the city’s biggest employers, we’re excited to continue to invest in Leeds and its workforce.”

It is the latest big name to commit to the Wellington Place development.

HMRC has a 25-year lease on 378,000 sq ft at 7 and 8 Wellington Place, and will move in to the development next year. Squire Patton Boggs, Brown Shipley, Brewin Dolphin and Shulmans are among the professional services firms to be based there.

Paul Pavia, head of development at asset manager MEPC, said: “Sky Betting & Gaming made Wellington Place its home back in 2010, and we’re thrilled to have seen its continued success and expansion as the development has grown.

“It’s apt that the company’s next chapter comes at a milestone moment in time for us at Wellington Place, as we embark on the start of the next phase of the development with the imminent ground breaking of 12 Wellington Place.”
