Law practice to help deliver specialist mentoring scheme

A specialist employment law and HR advice practice has been selected to become a key delivery partner in the provision of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) mentoring, support and advice to other legal practices.

Leeds-based Thrive Law has been chosen by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

The scheme will see Thrive Law and other EDI specialists offer 12-months of free support to small and medium sized law practices.

By helping them develop their approaches to EDI issues, the scheme will support participants in creating more inclusive workplaces and businesses, with the aim of benefiting staff, clients and the practices themselves.

Those firms being supported through the scheme will receive one-to-one monthly mentoring sessions with their mentor firm, gaining access to a wide range of advice, support materials and networking opportunities.

Mentor firms chosen by the SRA have been picked for their specialist experience and understanding of EDI issues, and have been nationally recognised by organisations such as The Times or Stonewall.

As well as Thrive Law, the firms selected to deliver the scheme include national names such as Baker McKenzie, Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, Clifford Chance, DWF Law, Eversheds Sutherland, Hogan Lovells and Norton Rose Fulbright.

Jodie Hill, managing director of Thrive Law, said: “We are honoured to feature in such exalted company as the national legal brands chosen by the SRA to deliver this programme on behalf of the legal profession.

“As the only small and Yorkshire-based practice chosen by the SRA, we are very much looking forward to meeting the challenge and delivering on the promise to its legal partners.”
