Development opportunity at former Birds Eye site in Grimsby

Watling Real Estate is inviting offers to develop 76 new homes and three commercial properties at the former Birds Eye factory site in Grimsby.

Planning permission has been approved for phase 3 of the 2.52-acre Clee Field View scheme on Ladysmith Road. Part of the site was once home to Birds Eye Food’s famous fish finger factory which burnt down in 2007 in one of the town’s biggest ever fires.

Alex Sweetman, director of Watling Real Estate’s Leeds office, said: “Phase 1 has already seen 49 new homes developed and sold, with Phase 2 for a further 50 homes partially completed, and work just starting on Phase 4, a 70-bed care home with 8 additional apartments. We are excited to have been appointed to market Phase 3, involving 76 consented new homes and three commercial units, and welcome all enquiries from the market.”
