Profit falls at Drax Group as lower power prices weigh on performance

Power group Drax has reveal a fall in profits for the year reflecting lower achieved power prices and a substantial non-cash impairment charge.

In the year to 31 December, operating profit fell to £241m, compared with £850m in 2024. The decline was primarily driven by a £378m non-cash impairment. On an adjusted basis, EBITDA decreased to £947m from £1,064m the previous year. However, it was higher than market expectations of £914m.
