Tetley’s site plan revealed

CARLSBERG has set out plans to use the Tetley Brewery site to host an art gallery and green space.

The company is proposing leasing the headquarters building to Project Space Leeds which will creare a new art gallery and bistro.

Its plans also include a 1.2 acre green space to be used by the public and a temporary car park.

Carlsberg closed the brewery operation in June but has said it wants to keep the site active and improve access for the public.

Leeds City Council has expressed interest in creating a permanent green space on the south bank as part of longer term plans for the area’s redevelopment.

A public exhibition on Carlsberg’s plans will be held at Tetley’s House on Thursday, September 22 between 1pm and 8pm.
