XSEM merges to expand

YORKSHIRE-BASED sports marketing firm XSEM has joined forces with a company which specialises in overseas event management.

XSEM, which is based in Leeds has merged with The Events Office in a move which will see the company increase its specialist operations across Europe.

The Events Office, which is based Huddersfield, will re-locate to XSEM's offices in Leeds and work under the XSEM brand.

Headed by the former Leeds United travel business development and event manager Darren Boston The Events Office specialises in sports travel and events.

Co-founder and director of XSEM, Michael Gwilliam, said: “We have worked with The Events Office a number of times in recent years, delivering top quality sports events and experiences for our clients in Europe. We were looking to expand our services for our clients and viewed The Events Office as the perfect addition to be able to do that. It's an exciting time for XSEM as a business and we're thrilled to be working with Darren in this official capacity now.”

Mr Boston, who now becomes an account director, said: “I cannot wait to get started on helping produce fantastic solutions for clients of the new-look XSEM operation. We share a common goal of providing a great event experience. It's an honour to think they see The Events Office as a ready-made fit for their expansion plans.”

The companies previously worked together on events including commercial property consultant King Sturge's largest international conference in Madrid this year, which attracted 600 delegates.
