New Yorkshire Forward CEO confirmed

THEA Stein was today confirmed as the new chief executive of regional development agency Yorkshire Forward.

Ms Stein is currently the RDA’s executive director of economic inclusion.

She will officially take up the role on July 1.

The post will initially be held for 12 months, as reported by TheBusinessDesk.com last month.

Ms Stein, who joined Yorkshire Forward in 2006, will replace Tom Riordan, who will leave the RDA in the summer to become chief executive of Leeds City Council.

Chairman Terry Hodgkinson said: “I’m delighted to confirm Thea Stein as the new chief executive of Yorkshire Forward.

“She is clearly the right candidate for this job, bringing invaluable experience of the unique role of a CEO, current and detailed knowledge of this organisation and extensive work with partners across the region.

“This will be essential when managing what will continue to be a rapidly changing environment, both for the economy and for the organisation.

“I am looking forward to working with Thea to ensure a smooth transition into her new role.”

Ms Stein said: “There is no doubt that this is a challenging time for the organisation and the region and that there are difficult decisions ahead of us.

“However, I am confident that, together with our local authorities, businesses and other stakeholders, we will find the most effective and efficient approach to ensure the best possible economic future for Yorkshire and Humber.”
