Government confirms infrastructure cash

YORKSHIRE has secured around £50m from the Government’s £500m Growing Places Fund to kickstart stalled investment projects, it has been confirmed.

The grants, from the Department for Communities and Local Government, will support projects creating jobs and growth, including commercial and residential developments as well as investments that support business growth.

Details of the cash awarded to Yorkshire via the region’s Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) was confirmed yesterday.

As previously reported by TheBusinessDesk.com, York and North Yorkshire will receive £6.3m, the Leeds City Region almost £25m, the Humber £5.9m and the Sheffield City Region £12.5m.
