McCarthy’s stores up a major deal

REMOVALS and storage firm McCarthy’s has secured a 10 year archived document storage contract valued at more than £500,000.
The agreement with national engineering consultancy Grontmij will see McCarthy’s store and archive documents which were previously spread across the UK and managed by five separate providers.
Mike McCarthy, managing director of Leeds-based McCarthy’s, said: “Securing the Grontmij contract is a fantastic start to the year to an area of our business that continues to go from strength to strength.
“We weren’t even one of the original suppliers, so it’s quite an achievement to have been selected to manage everything from now on.
“The recent investment we have made in our Leeds facility is definitely a key attribute for us along with our 10 years of experience of document handling and archived storage, which we have to date specialised in for regional professional services companies.”
Grontmij’s facilities manager Mark Ibitson said: “Moving to one supplier is a very serious move for us and naturally we needed to be absolutely certain in the decision.”
Mr McCarthy added: “2012 already looks like it will be another year of success,” concluded Mike. “With this contract and another important business development which we are hoping to announce shortly, we are confident in being able to report growth again next year.”
Trading since 1970, McCarthy’s is a family business best known for its private and commercial removals.
The company also offers a range of business services including self storage, confidential shredding, serviced offices and has also recently opened a 300 room self storage facility for homes and businesses in Harrogate.
