Positive results for LMAS

COMPANIES receiving money through the Leadership and Management Advisory Service are seeing an increase in their turnover or profits, according to a new survey.

The survey of small businesses that had received grants of up to £1000 found that the proportion of businesses who agreed that LMAS had a positive effect on turnover or profits was 21 percentage points higher than those who disagreed.

Reed in Partnership conducted the survey of more than 5,000 organisations on behalf of Exemplas which delivers the Leadership and Management Advisory Service in Yorkshire and London.

Norman Jennings, director of skills development at Exemplas, said: “We were surprised and pleased that such a small amount of funding per organisation seems to make such a difference, with more than 21% of the businesses supported reporting increased profits  or turnover – compared to an average of 7%.

“The LMAS is designed to open the minds of small business leaders and maximise the investment that they make in themselves and their businesses. We employ a team of specialist advisers who conduct a needs analysis with each business leader, and recommend bespoke training based on each employer’s needs. We believe it’s this tailored one to one approach that really makes the service unique.”
