A £250,000 investment in a new car parking management system by Leeds’ car park operator Town Centre Car Parks (TCCP) enabled fans of US rock star Bruce Springsteen to have a trouble free start to their journey home when leaving the Merrion Centre multi-storey car park after the opening concert at the First Direct Arena.
The new state-of-the-art system, installed last week, allowed the 1,000 space car park to be cleared within half an hour, avoiding lengthy queues for car users at the end of the evening.
The newly introduced vehicle registration recognition system also helps customers with lost tickets.
Ben Ziff, managing director TCCP, said: “The new parking system is the most advanced installation in Leeds allowing us to give our customers the best possible experience. As the Merrion Centre car park is the nearest multi-storey car park to the First Direct Arena we have worked in partnership with Leeds City Council to ensure we deliver a first class visitor experience to Arena users.”

YOKSHIRE accountants Garbutt & Elliott are to run a series of seminars for non-executive directors in family businesses.
The seminars will be held this later this year and are in response to the growing need for enlightened non-executive directors in the family business sector.
Craig Manson, the partner in charge of family businesses at Garbutt & Elliott, which has offices in York and Leeds, explained: “We are seeing increasing demand from family businesses for good non-executive directors, who can bring strong and effective corporate governance to the family business and help with strategic and succession planning.
“Whilst there are many top-quality non-executive directors to choose from there are, at present, comparatively few who have worked in family businesses. It is our view that, for some time to come, the supply of directors with family business experience will not match the increasing demand.”
