Growth sparks relocation for S4S

DENTAL laboratory S4S has announced plans to relocate to new premises in Sheffield to support its rapid growth.

The company, backed by a six figure loan from The Royal Bank of Scotland, is to move from its 1100 sq ft rented site on Chesterfield Road in Woodseats in December to a new 2500 sq ft site which is currently being fitted out with the latest technology and advanced laboratory facilities.

S4S was launched in 2005 and is today managed by directors Neil Bullement and Matt Everatt who completed a management buyout of the business in 2008.

Both have worked at S4S since its inception and have expanded the business which today employs 12 staff with plans to recruit new staff over the next 12 months including placements for dental technology students.

S4S is a leading dental laboratory which provides a range of dental appliances for the treatment of snoring, sleep apnoea, bruxism and orthodontics.

Mr Bullement said: “At S4S we are different to many dental laboratories because we focus on very specific areas. By working as a niche operator we have established ourselves as one of the leaders in this market. The success of the firm in the last two years, particularly following the launch of “Smilelign” our clear orthodontic aligner system means we are now running out of space in our current premises.

“The funding from RBS has enabled us to purchase the new site which provides additional security because our current premises are rented. The bank have been extremely supportive and enabled us to more than double our work space capacity. We can’t wait to move into the new HQ which is currently being fitted out to meet our exact specifications. The laboratory workstations will be brand new and by keeping our location in Sheffield we are ensuring our manufacturing remains in the city. We also have plans to take on more new staff in the next year which will help to support the local economy.”

David Fielding, relationship manager at RBS, added: “S4S is an impressive local business operating in a niche market. They are focused on educating dentists and the medical profession on the effectiveness and use of their products which are all manufactured on site in Sheffield. The move to the new larger premises in December will help them to strengthen their workforce and increase their production to meet increased demands for their products and services. We wish them all the best with the move in December.”
