Harrogate firm boosts home design icon’s web sales

INTERIOR design specialist The Conran Shop is hailing its newly designed website a success just weeks after its launch.

The retailer has been working with e-inbusiness, which is part of Harrogate-based Welcom Software, to improve the online shopping experience on three of its key e-commerce sites – the US, UK and France.

The project focused on the redesign of a new site front end that would align the site closer to the Conran Shop brand and experience while improving accessibility, customer interaction and enhancing the overall user experience.

Launched at the beginning of August 2008, early indicators suggest that the site relaunches have been a resounding success with all three sites now providing Conran Shop customers with a more engaging and branded customer experience across every touch point.

Nigel Corp, e-inbusiness chief operating officer said: “While The Conran Shop was selling very successfully online through its current e-commerce site they wanted to refresh and enhance the overall customer experience.

“Through detailed web analytics analysis, our team delivered The Conran Shop a site that not only looks more on brand and stylish but is also designed with the needs and wants of its customers at the forefront of the development.”

Since its creation in 1999, e-inbusiness has worked for a number of well known brands including New Look, Radley, Farrow & Ball, The Conran Shop, The Jacques Vert Group and Dreams. It was acquired by Welcom Software last year.

The first Conran Shop opened in 1973 on Fulham Road in London. Now with eight stores, Conran Shops can be found in London, Paris, New York, Tokyo, Fukuoka and Nagoya and is regarded as one of the leading high quality home furnishings retail businesses in the world.
