600 Group takeover talks continue

ENGINEERING business 600 Group has been granted a further extension until the New Year to allow for talks to continue over a possible takeover by a Chinese industrial group.
The Leeds-based company was first approached by Qingdao D&D Investment Group in September, with the original deadline for a decision set for October 9.
This was extended to November 4 and then again to 5pm today.
Issuing a statement this afternoon, 600 Group said: “Further to the previous announcements regarding the approach by Qingdao D&D Investment Group Co. that may or may not lead to a cash offer being made for the company, the board of 600 Group can confirm that discussions are on-going and that the Takeover Panel has consented to a further extension of the relevant deadline to allow those discussions to progress.”
The new deadline has been set for 5pm on January 1.
600 Group designs and distributes machine tools and precision engineered components and laser marking systems with operations in Europe, North America and Australia selling into more than 180 countries worldwide.
