Cranswick sizzles with sales boost

PORK specialists Cranswick said today that despite battling rising costs trading had been positive and in line with management’s expectations.
In a trading update the Hull-based food manufacturer, – which makes Taste the Difference pork products for Sainsbury’s and also supplies Tesco – said its sales performance has been strong with revenue increasing by 9%.
The rise represents an increase of 10% on a like-for-like basis excluding the animal feed business that was disposed of during the first quarter of the previous year.
Raw material cost increases have been incorporated into selling prices.
The company added that cashflow from operating activities has remained strong.
Cranswick will announce its interim results on November 17.
