In Brief: James Walker Moorflex; Gateley; J. H. Shouksmith; G&E

METAL machining company James Walker Moorflex has committed its largest ever investment in a single item of plant and created three new jobs.

The West Yorkshire business has spent almost £500,000 on the installation of a new high-precision machining centre from DMG Mori at the company’s Bingley production site.

The company manufactures high-precision components in a range of metals for critical applications in the oil, gas and nuclear industries, with more than 75% of its output going for export to a wide range of blue-chip projects and customers round the globe.

“This represents the largest investment we have ever made in a single item of plant. We have an ambitious growth target of 25% per annum and this investment in both manufacturing technology and people, will enable us to stay ahead of the demands of our customers in the high specification oil, gas and nuclear industries,” said James Walker Moorflex’s manufacturing manager Andrew Meredith.
