PR, Marketing and HR Appointments: BusinessLink boosts team
A round-up of the region’s appointments within the PR, Marketing and HR sector.
BUSINESS Link Yorkshire has strengthened its marketing team with two key appointments to deliver ambitious plans to help thousands more Yorkshire businesses in 2009.
Ellen Breur has been appointed PR manager and will work alongside new events manager Vernon Tolson to encourage more people to contact Business Link’s team of advisers by phone or via its website.
Ms Breur has 10 years experience in communications management and joins Business Link Yorkshire from South Kesteven District Council in Grantham, where she was communications manager. She also spent four years as marketing and communications manager for Connexions South Yorkshire.
She said her priority was to make sure Business Link was meeting the needs of the region’s business community.
Vernon Tolson will promote existing events like the Be Inspired workshops for new businesses and create new events to encourage more start up businesses throughout Yorkshire. He will also encourage established businesses to attend workshops on websites, surviving the credit crunch and reaching new markets and will provide new services to support them through the economic downturn.
Mr Tolson joins from Sheffield Chamber of Commerce where he was events and marketing manager working on the rebrand of the chamber, events to mark its 150th anniversary in 2007 and the development, production and promotion of Sheffield Trump Cards and Sheffield Monopoly. He also ran marketing campaigns for flagship events including Sheffield Business Awards and Sheffield Economic Summit.

DIGITAL Media Projects has appointed a new marketing manager.
Online marketing specialist Kristal Ireland has joined the Leeds-based Digital Media Projects team in the UK.
Her new role will see her promoting and expanding DMP’s range of high definition media server technology and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) platforms across the UK, Europe and America.
