Appointments: Calbee UK, Roan

LEEDS-BASED European subsidiary Calbee UK, has appointed Julian Bannister as business development manager.
He will be supporting the brand’s profile and securing listings within the out of home and on the go sales channels.
With the brief to gain widespread distribution of the Calbee product, which will launch in June, Mr Bannister is current liaising with independent and network retail outlets such as cafes, forecourts, health clubs and vending suppliers to secure interest in the new snack.
Mr Bannister said: “The opportunity to be involved in a start-up business in the UK, albeit a major global snacking company from Japan, brings some exciting challenges.
“The product is a revolutionary concept for the UK but it is tasty and innovative so people have been really receptive. I look forward to the day that we are stocked throughout the UK in all out of home channels.”
Working from the company’s headquarters in Leeds, Julian will join the growing team that are working on the launch of Calbee’s first product which is expected to hit shelves from June.

OFFSITE build specialist, Roan Building Solutions, has appointed its first compliance manager. Jeremy Waddell.
Mr Waddell joins from Harsco where he was senior operations manager responsible for a 184-man team, overseeing substantial contracts. Previously Jeremy managed a hire and sale fleet of 800 cabins and modular buildings.
He also served for over 22 years in HM forces including two years as a regimental sergeant major before embarking on a career in construction.
A seasoned project manager, Mr Waddell has extensive knowledge of health and safety procedures, contracts, partnering with sub-contractors and ensuring all business activities are carried out within regulatory frameworks.
Mr Waddell’s appointment is the first of many for Roan as it continues to expand its reach across a range of sectors as Matt Goff, director at Roan Building Solutions, said: “Jeremy will ensure our policies and procedures remain strong and consistent as we grow.
“The rail, education and health sectors are all reaping the benefits of modular construction – speedier than traditional build without compromising quality.
