Nisa signs £250m deal with food export firm

WHOLESALER Nisa Retail has signed a £250m contract with food export firm Ramsden International.
The five-year contract extends a long-standing partnership between the firms. Now Nisa has signed up as a grocery supplier to Ramsden International, the Grimsby-based exporter.
The announcement follows recent news that Nisa had signed a five year deal worth £1bn to supply the new My Local estate of 140 stores.
Sean Ramsden, chief executive of Ramsden International, said: “Ramsden International is delighted to extend our relationship with Nisa over the next five years.
“The export market is a fast changing environment and we have been skilled in the past at exploiting new opportunities.
“With this new contract in place Nisa will give us the flexibility and levels of service which will ensure that we continue to deliver the best possible service to our customers across the globe while continuing to grow our business.”
Nisa’s head of independent and specialist, James Roberts said: “We’ve worked very closely with the team there for many years for the mutual benefit of both our businesses and this is another significant piece of business for Nisa.”
“Nisa is uniquely placed in the marketplace to be the partner of choice, not only to traditional convenience stores, but through our independent and specialist business unit, to a diverse range of retail and wholesale formats,” said independent and specialist business unit director, Steve Leach.
Nisa supports over 1,200 local retailers and 2,500 stores across the UK. Some operate under the Nisa brand and others under their own names. Nisa supplies the stock they need and the retail support that helps them to grow their business.
Ramsden International is a wholesale exporter offering a wide range of British groceries to more than 800 customers in 130 countries worldwide.
