Record year for healthcare company as turnover grows to £169m

AN “excellent” year’s growth has stimulated turnover at Sheffield company B Braun Medical.

A record year saw revenues to December 2015 reach £169m

For the previous year, to 31 December, the company’s turnover stood at £117m. Pre-tax profits on ordinary activities reached £11.7m.

B. Braun Medical employs 1,200 people in the UK, and is a subsidiary of German firm B Braun Group.

The company specialises in computer-navigated orthopaedic surgery, surgical instrumentation, sterile technology, dialysis services and automated infusion systems.

Hans Hux, parent company B Braun Group’s chief executive, said: “We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved in 2015.This success is very much down to the commitment of our staff here at B. Braun, as well as the company’s long-term focus on employee training and education.

“This growth is also due to the company’s dedication to the innovation of its products, services, and in-market activities, all of which deliver the very best outcomes for our customers.”

There is a positive outlook for 2016, with sales and profit expectations on the up.
