Heselden funeral to be held at HESCO

THE funeral of millionaire philanthropist Jimi Heselden will be held at the factory site of his Leeds firm HESCO Bastion.
The service, at midday on Monday, will be followed by a private family burial ceremony.
Mr Heselden was raised in Halton Moor, in Leeds, and the funeral cortege will stop outside Halton Moor Social Club at 1.30pm.
A statement issued by the family said: “All who knew Jimi and his work for the community he loved are welcome as well as those who simply wish to come and pay their respects.”
The miner-turned-entrepreneur amassed a personal fortune estimated at £166m after inventing a way of using wire cages to build walls that is now used as a way of protecting military forces and in flood defences.
He was also a major supporter of charities, donating £23m to the Leeds Community Foundation and supporting Help for Heroes. His family has asked that donations be made to the two charities in place of floral tributes.
Mr Heselden was found dead on September 26 after apparently falling in the River Wharfe while riding on a Segway motorised scooter device near his Thorp Arch home. His company bought Segway earlier in the year.
HESCO Bastion is found at Knowsthorpe Way on the Cross Green Industrial Estate. Those who wish to attend the funeral are asked to register at www.herototheheroes.co.uk.
