£40m project restores fire-hit manufacturer

FOLLOWING a devastating fire in 2013, Leeds-based manufacturer has been restored to its former glory with a £40m project.
Airedale International appointed Darnton B3 architecture for the demolition and clean up works following the fire.
It was also necessary to finish a major asbestos cleanup at the 237,000 sq ft site.
Darnton B3 has now completed the £40m project which has seen Airedale rise from the ashes with a whole new factory, housing more than 100 staff.
Initially a temporary facility was built by Darnton B3 whilst the new build of a head office and research and manufacturing facility was completed.
Airedale managing director, Clive Parkman, said; “The move back to our new facility has been very welcome and is testament to the hard work delivered by Darnton B3. The firm has been the perfect partner throughout the entire process and they have worked with us and supported us every step of the way.
“We can’t thank them enough for their hard work and for the incredible new site.”
Keith Hardcastle director at Darnton B3 who led on the project, commented; “it is fantastic to see the completion of this longstanding project for Airedale.
“We are incredibly proud to have finally handed over this highly advanced facility where Airedale can continue its innovative product development and service delivery.”
