Dental laboratory all smiles with 9,000 sq ft site acquisition

SPECIALIST Sheffield-based dental laboratory S4S (UK) has acquired and relocated to new premises in the city as part of its ongoing expansion.
Supported by funding from Royal Bank of Scotland, the company has acquired a 9,000 sq ft site on Rutland Road, which will house the firm’s laboratories, training facilities and administration functions.
Neil Bullement, commercial director, said: “We couldn’t be happier with our new premises. The business has grown solidly over the last 11 years, achieving growth of between 10 and 15% each year and as a result we require more space to operate from and to accommodate our ongoing expansion.
“The new facility provides plenty of space to house the business both at its current size and as we continue to grow. We have a large main laboratory, a second smaller lab, a 3d printing room with six printers, plenty of office space and a training room.”
Established in 2005, with a focus solely on distributing the Sleepwell anti snoring device in the UK, S4S was acquired by present owners Neil Bullement and Matt Everatt as part of a MBO in 2008 and has since diversified into other product areas.
The company today specialises in the production and distribution of dental splints and other orthodontic appliances including Smilelign clear aligners, occlusal splints to relieve symptoms of bruxism, anti-snoring appliances for snoring and sleep apnoea and other orthodontic appliances such as retainers.
The introduction of these product lines has largely contributed to the firm’s growth which now has an annual turnover of around £2m and employs more than 30 staff.
Peter Bacon, senior relationship manager, Royal Bank of Scotland, said: “I am pleased that we have been able to support S4S (UK) Limited with the acquisition of their new premises. We have worked alongside the company since its inception and supported Neil and Matt throughout the MBO process. The relocation is the latest major step for the company and will provide the firm with an ideal base from which to operate and grow.”
