SME support venture launched

A NEW business mentoring service has been launched in North Yorkshire to help SMEs achieve their potential.
Business and Enterprise Coaching, based in Harrogate, has been started by Jez Willard targeting Yorkshire firms with a turnover of at least £250,000.
Mr Willard said: “The Government has thrown down the challenge for the private sector, particularly SMEs which make up by far the largest proportion, to drive the economy forward and create growth and jobs in a tough international climate.
“There is a tendency for people to talk about how important the SME sector is and then do relatively little to enable such businesses to achieve their aspirations and become tomorrow’s wealth and job creators.
“We’re helping to change this by putting experienced business people, rather than just traditional advisers, into SMEs for a modest monthly fixed fee to give managements the expert guidance they deserve.
“There is often a small step between success and stagnation with SMEs and no one wants to see unnecessary underachievement in the current climate. We are already helping Yorkshire SMEs to overcome challenges which appeared daunting and, through this, are becoming trusted partners for those which want to pursue excellence.”
BEC has a team of business mentors with experience at senior levels both in blue-chip companies and running their own enterprises.
