A CONSULTANCY which aims to provide environmental services – including protected species surveys, planning advice and construction services – has been launched.
Quants Environmental has offices in Ripon and Leeds, and offers ecology and development services with a view to managing environmental risk.
Andrew Westgarth, Quants’s managing director, has formed the start-up company after securing £40,000 of funding from NatWest bank.
The company has won a number of projects since its launch and offers its services to customers from all sectors and across the UK.
Mr Westgarth and operations director Toby Fisher have more than 25 years of experience in the industry between them.
Mr Westgarth said: “I’m really happy we’ve been able to make our first steps and already have some very interesting projects underway including specialist bat work at Swinsty Reservoir Lodge, development services for golf courses, ecological planning support to local architects and planners and a whole range of bird, badger, invasive weed removal and great crested newt surveys within the private sector.
“It’s important that we can use our experience in the field to provide quality and timely services to our customers and we take great pride in the standard of our work.”
Steve Ellis, relationship manager for NatWest, said: “Andrew has a very impressive venture on his hands here and it’s been a pleasure to make his vision a reality by helping fund these first steps.”
