Courts recover from floods

A £1.8m refurbishment of the court house in Rotherham, which was badly damaged by flooding last year, has been completed.

Leeds-based Ellmore Construction has completed the work, which involved the reinstatement of the flooded basement, a full fit out of the court rooms, offices and cells for defendants as well as mechanical and electrical installations.

Ellmore’s managing director Steve Ellmore said: “This six month contract has seen the Court buildings restored back to their former glory and conforms to the stringent requirements of the HM Court Service.”

The Ellmore Construction Group, founded in 1972, comprises of five specific divisions in construction, bank and shop fitting, facilities management, bespoke joinery and restoration and conservation.
