Yorkshire Building Society chief executive Susan Allen OBE, a leader with over 25 years’ experience in financial services, is the inspiring speaker for our Women in Business lunch on Thursday 11 April.
Susan’s journey encompasses retail banking, corporate banking, global banking, operations, and strategic roles, focusing on transformation and business leadership.
Susan, who joined YBS in March 2023, brings a wealth of knowledge from her previous role as head of customer transformation at Barclays. Her career includes serving as chief executive of retail and business banking at Santander UK, where she was recognized for her corporate allyship at the British LGBT+ Awards in 2020.
Susan, a former board member of UK Finance, received an OBE in 2021 for her outstanding contributions to the financial services industry during the Covid-19 pandemic. Away from her day job Susan is a member of the board of trustees for the Alzheimer’s Society, helping direct its strategic direction and activities.
