Media Buzz: All change at Outsmart; Move for Bluestorm; and more

LEEDS-based design and marketing agency Outsmart is looking to fast-track its expansion with a move to bigger premises, the introduction of a non-executive director and a new managing partner.

Andy Taylor joins from PIC group in Morley, where he was business development director.

He has previously worked for William Hill as retail marketing manager for the UK and Ireland, aswell as agency roles at Poulters in Leeds and McCann-Erickson in Manchester.

Robert Pentelow, director of The Pentelow Practice, which is a principal partner Practice of St. James’s Place Wealth Management Group, joins the agency as a non-executive director.

The growth of the Outsmart team coincides with a move into larger premises in Leeds as the agency gears up to expand the business which already includes Virgin Health Bank, the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and Blackpool-based Healthy and Essential as clients.

Taylor will work alongside Outsmart’s founder Paul Harker and will take on the role of managing partner and head of client services.

BluestormBLUESTORM Design and Marketing, based in East Yorkshire, is celebrating its 10th birthday with a new home.

The agency said the new building, on Redcliffe Road at the Melton Business Park, is seen as the next step in establishing a fully-integrated design and marketing agency in the East Riding that can compete on a level playing field with firms in Leeds and Manchester.

Andrew Cawley, who set up Bluestorm in 2000, said: “We’ve come a long way in a short space of time. From fairly humble beginnings and a small borrowed office, we now have 32 permanent staff, over 80 active accounts and a turnover of £2.6m a year.”

AUTOMOTIVE supplier Hella has appointed Yorkshire marketing agency Purebrand to support the UK launch of a new range of diagnostics technology for cars and motorbikes which will benefit garages and workshops.

Purebrand’s sales and marketing campaign promotes the features and benefits of the diagnostics products to distributors, workshops and garages and is central to Hella’s UK expansion plans.

Purebrand’s launch campaign for Hella includes a series of tailored product brochures for the field sales team and a seven month trade advertising campaign.

Purebrand managing director Simon Ryan said: “This is a major project for Hella and a key part of the company’s plans to grow the UK operation, so it’s an exciting time to partner with such an innovative brand.

“Whilst already a big name in vehicle lighting, as the Hella range continues to expand our job is to build the company’s profile across its other product areas, ensuring that Hella becomes equally well known for diagnostics equipment and vehicle components.”
