Concorde takes off with SIG

IT service provider Concorde Informatics has been awarded a six-figure three year contract by SIG Trading – the UK arm of the building materials supplier.

Under the agreement, Brighouse-based Concorde will deliver IT support and business continuity services to Sheffield-based SIG’s IT infrastructure across all of its 400 plus UK sites.

The new contract will consolidate three existing separate IT service and business continuity agreements, which had been with two different companies, into one new contract.

Colin Meakin, Concorde’s managing director, said: “Concorde is an established IT service provider with more than 25 years experience in delivering IT support services.

“We have all the core strengths expected from an IT service delivery partner and this contract underlines the strength of our offering and reflects our commitment to developing long standing relationships built upon personalised and tailored services to meet the changing needs of our clients.”

John Whaling, UK IT director at SIG said: “We had no hesitation in awarding the contract to Concorde Informatics as it combined a very cost-effective proposal with a business approach that is both flexible and innovative.”

The contract win is less than three months after Mr Meakin and a consortium of local business leaders including former chief executive of ICM Barry Roberts bought Concorde in a managment buy-in, buyout deal.

Concorde already boasts two other leading construction companies – Jewsons and Huddersfield paving specialist Marshalls – as clients.
