David Palmer drives to victory

CELEBRATIONS are in full swing at David Palmer Travel after the luxury coach firm was named Coach Operator of the Year at the 2009 National Coach Tourism Awards.
Wakefield-based family owned David Palmer fended off some tough competition to pick up one of the competition’s top accolades.
Lisa Palmer, the tour operator’s managing director, said: “It’s fair to say that we were up against some of the best companies in the UK.
“We are extremely proud of this achievement and want to thank all of our employees who help to make David Palmer Travel the award winning company that it is today.
The company recently announced the arrival of its £320,000 brand new Van Hool coach, with reclining leather seats, extended leg room, fresh water toilet and Euro 5 low emission engine reaffirming its commitment to continued investment in the first class fleet and business.
It is one of only two businesses in West Yorkshire to be accredited with the CoachMarque stamp of approval, which is the only universally recognised kite mark of quality in the UK coach industry.
David Palmer, now in its third generation, employs 22 people within its Coach Business and MOT, Service and Repair Centre.
To date it has transported more than half a million passengers on more than 12,000 tours to destinations across the UK and beyond.
