Garbutt and Elliott boost corporate finance team

YORKSHIRE accounting firm Garbutt and Elliott has strengthened its corporate finance team in Leeds with the appointment of Tariq Javaid.

Mr Javaid joins the firm from regional development agency Yorkshire Forward, where he was responsible for selective finance investment and the South Yorkshire Inward Investment programme.

Prior to joining Yorkshire Forward he worked at Depuy, an international orthopaedic firm, and Weir Valves – part of the Weir Group.

He brings a wealth of experience in due diligence and structuring finance, working across a number of sectors including advanced engineering materials, food and drink, creative industries, bioscience, healthcare technologies and the environment.

As part of his new role he will be working on transaction service, management buyouts, buy-ins, mergers and acquisitions, disposals and fund-raising.
