Think tank inspires MBA alternative

AN alternative to conventional MBA type programmes inspired by insights from Huddersfield-based ‘think tank’ the Forum is launching this month.

The Intrapreneurial Manager not only tests student’s ability to learn but how successful they are in making a return on the £3,500 course fee over the next 12 months.

David Broadhead, managing director of Partners in Management – the firm behind the new style programme – said it was designed for a new breed of manager.

“My feelings are that the current economic crisis represents a failure of management emanating from the consultancy led, analytical target driven mentalities that have developed over the last 20 years,” he said.

“What we need in this next decade of austerity is a new breed of manager that can innovate and deliver sustainable organic growth in an ethical way.”

He continued: “The discussions I have had with the Forum group confirmed and reinforced this belief and as a result we have introduced this new programme to offer a refreshing alternative to conventional MBA type programmes.”

The new programme is accredited at the same level seven Masters and lead to the Chartered Management Institute’s Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership qualification.

The Forum, which comprises of 12 members from across the UK and business sectors, meets quarterly and has been accredited with predicting the recession, the housing crash, the collapse in sterling and the rise of localisation.
