Eversheds announces new senior partner

LAW firm Eversheds has announced that partner Paul Cotton will be taking on the role as the senior office partner in its Leeds office.

He joined Eversheds in 1998 and is the head of the Leeds employment team.

Mr Cotton specialises in the employment aspects of acquisitions and mergers, particularly TUPE, restructuring and re-organisations.

He also has a special interest in advising on executive terminations, restrictive covenants and industrial relations issues.

This appointment follows the recent announcement that the current senior office partner in Leeds, Keith Froud, will be taking on the role of firm-wide company commercial practice group head.

Mr Froud said: “The Leeds office plays a very important role in Eversheds’ operations locally and internationally.

“Whilst my appointment as the firm-wide head of our company commercial practice group complements my continuing involvement in client matters, it is absolutely right that the role of senior office partner is passed on. I really could not be leaving the leadership of the Leeds office in more capable hands.”

Mr Cotton added: “We have a great team in Leeds, and across Eversheds, and I am very much looking forward to taking on the role of senior office partner.

“Keith Froud has done a great job in driving forward our profile in the region and across Eversheds more widely. I fully intend to build on the platform that he has created, further strengthening our client and stakeholder relationships.”
