DMN stands out thanks to funding

A YORKSHIRE exhibitions and retail interiors designer and manufacturer has secured a £220,000 funding package to aid its expansion plans in the Gulf.
Established in the 1960s, Huddersfield based Display Maintenance is one of the oldest running exhibition contractors in the country.
Originally launched to build point of sale and merchandising stands for the carpet trade, DMN has evolved to provide a range of services to meet its clients’ needs.
These include the design and build of exhibition stands and specialist retail interiors.
Approximately 88% of DMN’s business is conducted throughout the UK with the remainder taking place in the Gulf.
DMN, which has annual turnover of £3.6m, has invested in technology ranging from CAD design packages to the latest wide scale graphic printing.
DMN has secured the funding package from NatWest through the Government’s Enterprise Finance Guarantee (EFG) Scheme.
The company’s client base includes BAE Systems and Dunlopillo’s bedding.
The funding package will provide working capital facilities for DMN to develop its business further in the Gulf to meet growing demand.
DMN has plans to establish a manufacturing and sales base and to purchase new machinery in the UK and ship it out to the Gulf.
The company employs 28 people ranging from electricians and joiners to interior designers and graphic designers but plans to increase headcount 25 % over the next 12 months.
Mark Lamont, director of DMN, said: “The company has come a long way since its formation in the early 60s and we have diversified our offering over the years as the industry has evolved to meet our customer’s needs.
“With the business continuing to attract new contracts from the Gulf it makes sense to grow the company to meet this increasing demand and the new funding facility that is now in place will enable us to progress in line with our desired expansion plans.”
Aidan Jewitt, associate director business development at NatWest Commercial Banking in Huddersfield, said: “Our multi-disciplinary team created a unique financial package that lets the company implement their plans from a sound and secure platform.
“We are pleased to be welcome DMN to the bank and look forward to working with the company and management team.”
