Yorkshire Business Masters 2011 launched

THEBUSINESSDESK.COM’S groundbreaking awards, the Yorkshire Business Masters 2011, is launched today.

Celebrating the best of Yorkshire business, the awards recognise the contribution of both individuals and companies to the regional economy and community.

Nominations are invited in six categories with the awards to be presented at the event at Aspire, in Leeds, on June 16.

The Yorkshire Business Masters are supported by Walker Morris, KPMG, Credit Agricole, NatWest and Leeds University Business School.

They aim to highlight success stories across the region and the categories include Yorkshire Grit, Pride, Newcomer, Innovator and Ambassador and a new award this year for Yorkshire Advisor of the Year.

TheBusinessDesk.com editor David Parkin said: “We are really excited to be launching this year’s Yorkshire Business Masters after a hugely successful first event in 2010.

“The Business Masters is more than just the awards, it is an opportunity to make new contacts, catch up with old colleagues and explore new business opportunities in a relaxed atmosphere.

“Over the next few weeks we’ll be highlighting the achievements of nominees and celebrating the best of Yorkshire business in the build-up to the main event in June.”

The categories are:

  • Yorkshire Newcomer: Best new business initiative in the region
  • Yorkshire Grit: Overcoming adversity and making a real difference
  • Yorkshire Pride: Most meaningful philanthropic initiative by a business, organisation or leader
  • Yorkshire Innovator: Most creative or original business thinking
  • Yorkshire Ambassador: Greatest contribution to business in Yorkshire

And new for 2011:

  • Yorkshire Adviser: The best professional adviser working in the region

Nominations can be made now by clicking here and will close on April 28. A panel of judges will produce a shortlist before readers of TheBusinessDesk.com get their opportunity to vote online for the winners in each category.
