Casa Mia restaurant sold

A LEEDS restaurant chain has sold one of its outlets.

Owners Francesco and Marta Mazzella, who also operate Casa Mio Pronto on Bridgewater Place, said they have sold Chapel Allerton-based Casa Mia Grande and Veuve Bar de Champagne to “better balance our time between our young family and the Casa Mia business.”

Casa Mia Coffee Shop and Casa Mia Millennium are unaffected by the sale.

Mr Mazella said the outside catering and cake making businesses are also unaffected and are “both doing extremely well.”

He said: “We cannot say who the restaurant has been sold to at this stage but we feel we have found an owner who will maintain the location’s outstanding reputation for great food.

“Family values have been at the heart of our company since we started it in 1998. When the latest addition to our family arrived last year, running three restaurants proved a hard task and we didn’t want to begin to compromise those values.”

He said the decision to sell Grande came after “deep consideration.”

“Grande has been part of our lives for so long, and a place which we hope has also given you a great deal of enjoyment, but in this instance we had to consider our family. This was a tough decision but it will allow us to concentrate our energies on the remaining elements of the business for everyone’s benefit,” he added.

Grande and Veuve ceased trading last Friday but the special events calendar at Casa Mia Millennium will continue to run.
