Employers more Scrooge like this Christmas

IT will be work as usual on Christmas Eve, according to a report by recruitment firm Regus.

One in four staff will be expected to work on the Monday, although it's expected that thousands of worker will choose to take the day off.

Many offices observe an unofficial half day on December 24 to allow workers to travel home. But even though the London Stock Exchange will close at 12.30pm, shop workers and transport staff in particular can expect to work a full day.

However, office workers can expect their employers to be more in touch with the seasonal spirit – unless there is work to be done.
