Railclear on track for international expansion

WEED control business Railclear is gearing up for further international expansion as it continues negotiations with a number of European countries. 

Railclear, made up of UK-based Weedfree and its international arm Weedfree on Track, operates environmentally friendly weed control trains equipped with sophisticated technology to spray large distances of track in a fraction of the time taken by traditional methods.

The Goole-based company is already operating in Belgium and Denmark but said it is in advanced talks to provide services in several other European countries.

To help achieve its expansion plans, the company has secured up to £1.5m of invoice discounting facilities from HSBC’s Yorkshire commercial team.

Mark Vines, of HSBC in Yorkshire and the North East, added: “We have been able to offer Railclear flexible funding options to account for the seasonal nature of the business.

“Railclear is a fantastic business that is making great strides both at home and abroad in a very specialist area.”
