Web conference promises knowledge ‘upgrades’

AN international web conference featuring some of Yorkshire’s digital trailblazers is to take place in Leeds.

ThinkVisibility, which will take place on September 12 at the Alea Casino, is already attracting attendees from across the UK, Europe and the United Arab Emirates and the event is predicted to be a sell out.

The conference, which was launched in March, is aimed at business leaders, web professionals and marketing specialists and will feature seminars will focus upon the things that get left out of the web design process.

Other topics include exploring the latest developments in social media, usability, web analytics, making money online, search engine optimisation (SEO) and online PR.

Speakers will include digital PR specialist Karyn Fleeting – managing director of Tinderbox Media in Harrogate – who will talk about corporate blogging.

Fiona Thomson, a web user experience consultant at SimpleUsability in Leeds will demonstrate how her company’s cutting edge eyetracking software can help convert website visitors into customers.

Zoe Piper, a SEO manager at Aberford-based digital agency Branded3 will talk about Google Adwords Content Network.

The lineup also includes Artur Ortega, a blind computer scientist and “accessibility evangelist” for Yahoo! Europe, blog expert Joost de Valk,and Julian Sambles – the head of audience development for the Telegraph Media Group.

According to event organisers Hodgetastic the event is set to become a top ‘trending topic’ Twitter.

Managing director Dom Hodgson said: “We have doubled our capacity, as many would-be attendees were left disappointed last time round.

“There is something here for everyone. Our speaker list includes industry ‘rock stars’and talks will run alongside Q&A panels and real-life case studies.”
