Online presence for Macfarlane

MACFARLANE Group, the stock market listed manufacturer and supplier of cardboard, plastic and packaging, has acquired Online Packaging, which has a presence in Yorkshire.

Packaging supplier Online is based in Gloucester but has additional distribution sites in Wakefield and Hinckley.

Macfarlane has bought Online for £5.1m, £4.3m of which will be paid immediately, with the remainder becoming payable in the first quarter of next year if certain targets are met.

Macfarlane said the acquisition, which will see Online's management stay on following the deal, would complement its packaging distribution activities in the UK.
