Long-serving Cottingham steps down from Vp board

EQUIPMENT hire group Vp has announced that non-executive director Barrie Cottingham has retired from the group after 13 years service.

Mr Cottingham, the former senior partner of Coopers & Lybrand in Yorkshire and chairman of Cattles and SIG, is replaced as chairman of the Vp audit committee by Steven Rogers, who joined as a non-executive director last October.

The move was announced at Vp’s AGM yesterday where all resolutions were successfully passed.

Jeremy Pilkington, chairman of Vp,  commented: “Barrie’s wise counsel has been a great asset to Vp over a 13 year period in which the group has embraced significant change and successfully developed into the equipment rental specialist that it is today.

“I would like to thank Barrie on behalf of the board, the employees and the shareholders for his valued contribution to Vp and to wish him well on his retirement.”
