Yorkshire agency teams up with Manchester City

YORKSHIRE marketing agency outside the box (OTB) has won a contract to create a catalogue for Premier League football Manchester City.

The Leeds-based agency will work on a new 80-page Manchester City Collection Catalogue which will contain more than 300 branded club products.

Chris Arden, creative director at OTB, said: “We honed our pitch to link in with MCFC’s brand personality: down to earth, genuine, tenacious, streetwise and self-deprecating – by the fans for the fans.

“They recognised that to maximise sales and the database’s potential, our tried and tested direct mail and catalogue experience was needed.  It’s a great project and we’re delighted to be involved.”

OTB beat five other agencies to win the job. Ian Howard, marketing communications manager at Manchester City, said: ‘We wanted to move the catalogue to a new dimension.  We were looking for a an agency with the ability to combine enthusiasm for the team and the sport, with the expertise and experience of direct marketing; ultimately to provide a mail order offer that sits comfortably with our fans and sets the standard in quality commensurate with the 21st century. OTB’s pitch hit the nail on the head and we’re delighted to be working with them.”

The catalogue will work alongside the MCFC.co.uk online shop and will be available from early next month.
