MARKS & CLERK, the patent and trademark attorney firm, has appointed one of its Yorkshire-based partners to become chairman of its international management board.

MARKS & CLERK, the patent and trademark attorney firm, has appointed one of its Yorkshire-based partners to become chairman of its international management board.

Keith Hodkinson, a partner at the practice based in its Leeds office, has taken over the position from London-based Chris Gibson, who has decided to stand down after nine years in the role.

Mr Hodkinson, who joined Marks & Clerk in 1986, will continue to work out of the firm's Leeds office where he acts for a range of clients including AstraZeneca, Princes Foods and HBOS.

Marks & Clerk was founded in Birmingham in 1887 and has grown to boast 12 UK offices and a number of international operations.
