Plant ravaged by fire reopens

SEWER and drainage repair business Ferro Monk Systems has completed a £1m investment programme at its Leeds base.

The investment followed a major fire in April 2007 which destroyed specialist plant equipment, manufacturing equipment and vehicles at the Swillington facility.

It has seen a complete redevelopment of office accommodation, production and storage facilities and also the purchase of new equipment to make the plant one of the most well equipped of its type in the UK.

Ferro Monk Systems which has been part of Scunthorpe-based Clugston Group since 1999, has a multi-million turnover and operates throughout the UK.

The company has been providing rehabilitation and renovation services to blue chip clients for a wide variety of industrial and commercial applications, since 1980.

Danny Heffernan managing director at Ferro Monk said, “It has been a fantastic team effort. Everyone has done a marvellous job to get us fully operational in such a short period of time.”
